Dakota Bad Boys of Dry River, WY Book 5 Page 7

“It’s a beautiful kitchen,” she said as she turned toward him.

“I plan on replacing the floors. They’ve seen a lot of years.”

“You’re going to keep them cherry though, right?”

Dakota nodded. “I plan on it.”

She smiled at him then blushed when he continued to stare at her. He slowly advanced toward her with his eyes locked on hers and stopped in front her then cupped her face in his hands.

“You are so beautiful,” he whispered just above her lips then kissed her.

She wrapped her arms around his neck and opened her mouth to allow his tongue to enter. She moaned low in her throat.

  “Kota...”

He raised his head. “What did you call me?”

“Kota. You have a nickname for me. I have one for you too.”

He lowered his head. “You can call me anything you want, darlin’.” He pressed his lips to hers again.

  “How about lover?”

  He quickly pulled back. “What?”

“Can I call you my lover?”

  “Only if I am.”

  “I want you to be.”

  “Are you sure?”

  “Yes. Very sure.”

Dakota picked her up and carried her upstairs to his bedroom. Kicking the door closed behind him, he then carried her to the bed, placed one knee on the bed, and settled her in the center of it. Staring up at him, she saw the hesitation on his face. She put her arms out to him. He smiled at her and lay down beside her.

“I want you so much, Megan. You have no idea,” he said as he lowered his head and kissed her neck.

“I want you too. I just...”

Dakota raised his head. “You just what?”

  “Don’t want to disappoint you.”

“Oh, you could never do that.” He pressed his lips to hers and moved his hand down over her shoulder only to hesitate above her breast.

“Touch me,” she whispered, and then gasped when his hand cupped her breast.

“I have to taste you,” he said as he moved his hand to her hip and tugged her dress up to her waist. His hand moved across her stomach to the top of her panties. “Sit up,” he demanded.

She sat up and helped him remove her sundress. When he groaned, her eyes lifted to meet his.

  “What’s wrong?”

“Not a thing, Megan. You’re just more beautiful than I ever imagined.”

He removed his T-shirt and then pressed his lips to hers as he moved her to lie back down. His mouth moved from her lips to her neck and down to her breast. When his tongue rolled around her nipple, she grabbed fistfuls of his hair. He sucked the nipple deep into his mouth and rubbed the other one with the pad of his thumb, and she couldn’t stop the moans. He gave the other breast the same attention then moved down her stomach, pulled at her panties with his teeth, and moved a finger along the elastic before dipping it inside to her curls then pulled them down and tossed them to the floor. She held her breath until he moved his finger between her slit then it erupted in a loud gasp. When he placed his mouth over her mound, she squirmed and dug her nails into his shoulders. When his tongue touched her clitoris, she hissed in a breath and as he continued to suck on her, she had such a strong feeling roll over her. Her insides clenched and she sucked in breaths then screamed his name as she came. He quickly stood and removed his boots and jeans then he pulled her shoes off.

While she lay there quivering, he reached into the bedside table to retrieve a condom. She watched him through lowered lids as he sheathed himself. Her eyes widened at the sight of him. The sight of him aroused was more than impressive and she wondered if she could handle all of him. After kissing his way up her body to her lips, she could taste her essence on his lips.

“Wrap your legs around me, darlin’,” he said as he slowly inched into her. He suddenly hesitated and she felt her body resist. He stared down into her face. “Megan?”

“Don’t stop, Dakota. Please, don’t stop. I want this, I want you,” she pleaded and then sucked in a breath when he pushed all the way into her then stilled to let her adjust to him, and then he began moving his hips in and out. She tightened her legs around his waist and held on. It felt so wonderful once the initial pain faded.

  “Move with me, baby.”

She did and it wasn’t long before she felt that amazing feeling rolling over her again. She started taking deep breaths and wanting more.

  “Dakota,” she moaned.

“Let it go, baby. Let it go.”

He groaned against her lips and muffled her scream with his mouth in a deep kiss as she came and shattered into a thousand pieces. Dakota picked up the pace and moved harder and faster against her. He growled out her name and then collapsed over her. She’d never felt more complete in her entire life.

They had spent the rest of the day in bed. Dakota introduced her to all types of pleasure and she’d pleased him too. That day she knew, she was completely in love with him.

  Chapter Five

Megan quickly wiped tears from her face when she heard someone stomping their feet on the back porch. The back door opened then closed. She knew it had to be Dakota coming in from working in the barn. She thought she really should go to her room so she didn’t have to face him but she’d never been a coward before, and she wasn’t about to start now. Sitting up, she turned her eyes toward the television when she heard him enter the room.

“Are you hungry?” he asked her as a greeting.

“A little. I could fix something if you’d like.” She could be polite too, even if it killed her.

  “I’m not helpless,” he growled.

  So much for being polite.

“I know that. I just thought if I’m making myself something, I could make you something too.” She glared at him. “I’ll be cooking for the men soon—”

“No. That’s not necessary. I shouldn’t have told you that. They can take care of themselves. Don’t worry about it.”

“All right.” Frowning, she mentally shook her head. If she lived to be a thousand years old, she’d never understand men.

After giving her a terse nod, he then walked back to the kitchen. After a slight hesitation, she followed him then moved to the refrigerator and opened it.

“Are sandwiches all right?” she asked him.

  “Fine.”

She sighed. This was going to be more difficult than she thought. “Dakota, we need to be civil to each other if we’re going to live together.”

“We are not living together. You’re staying here for protection or until Aiden’s found. God help him when he is because if Caporale doesn’t kill him, I might.”

“That is a terrible thing to say,” she shouted, shutting the refrigerator door hard enough to rattle things stored in the door.

“Is it? He has ruined your life yet you still defend him.”

  “He’s my brother!”

“Yes, he is, but he is also twenty-three years old and in the real world, that’s considered an adult. He still acts like a child and that’s on you. You’ve done nothing but baby him since he was fifteen, and you started taking care of him. He’s a grown ass man, for God’s sake, Megan.”

  “He’s always depended on me...”

Dakota huffed. “I know he has, but there’s a difference in depending on you and dependence. It’s like he can’t survive without you and yet, he’s gone off on his own. He’s done nothing but use you for his own gains. Can’t you see that?” He shook his head.

A tear rolled down her cheek. She knew he was right and it was because of Aiden that she wouldn’t live here with Dakota when he’d wanted her to. She’ll never forget him yelling that at her when she refused to move here with him. Just because Aiden hadn’t wanted to move to Wyoming, she’d lost the love of her life.

“I’m sorry,” she said in a quiet regretful voice, knowing he had no real clue as to how sorry she was or how much she regretted her choice.

Dakota waved his hand. “Forget it. I have.” Th
en he left the kitchen in a huff.

She left the kitchen as well to seek out the solace of her bedroom since she’d lost her appetite. It was far better than being in the same room as Dakota and having him glare at her.

Aiden Carson sat in the cabin staring out the window. Only another day’s worth of hiking and he’d be in Canada. The border was close. He didn’t think Caporale would look for him there. He sure as hell hoped not anyway. He had enough money to live on there and since he’d already gotten a new identity, he was well on his way.

He wasn’t happy about leaving Megan behind but he had no choice. He’d miss her but he sure wouldn’t miss her mothering him. He knew she loved him, but she’d treated him like he was made of glass since he was fifteen and yes, he’d taken advantage of it. He still couldn’t believe she’d actually asked Dakota for the money to bail him out. The same man who wanted nothing more to do with her. Aiden shook his head in wonder. Was there nothing she wouldn’t do for him?

His eyes scanned the dense forest around him. He didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, but then he really didn’t know what was ordinary in the woods. He’d never camped or hiked before and the past two weeks had been an eye-opening life lesson. One he never wanted to repeat. Once he’d entered Montana, he’d started to feel relief. He’d even gone right by the town of Dry River, Wyoming—the place where Dakota Walker lived.

Aiden laughed. Maybe he should have stopped in and said hello. Of course, Dakota would have slugged him. He’d never liked Aiden, not that the feeling wasn’t mutual. He’d been nice but that was for Megan’s sake. Aiden couldn’t imagine how he’d reacted when Megan asked for money to bail her brother out. Thank God, he hadn’t turned her down because if he had, Aiden would be dead. Vincent would have gotten to him in or out of jail.

It had been a big mistake pissing off Vincent Caporale. The man had the city of Denver in his pocket. He was a well-known loan shark who had no problem having someone killed for not paying a loan back. Aiden knew he’d made a stupid move by not paying back the loan. He’d embezzled the money from the bank with the intent of paying Vincent back but once he had the money, he had to keep it. He loved to gamble and the last one had paid off big time. He had over one hundred thousand dollars and it was his. No one else’s.

He was sure Megan would be fine. She always seemed to bounce back. Except for the time, when Aiden refused to move to Wyoming and she wouldn’t go without him. She’d been a fool. She would have had it made being married to Dakota. After all, the man was rich. Well beyond what she was accustomed to and yet, she’d stayed with Aiden instead.

He was man enough to admit he’d done it on purpose. He knew Dakota didn’t like him but he didn’t like Dakota taking his sister so far away from him either, and Aiden knew she’d stay with him. He’d wanted to hurt Walker because he gave Aiden the idea he didn’t trust him.

Sighing, he got up from the sofa and walked to the kitchen. He’d fix himself something to eat, get a good night’s sleep, and start out at first light. He was so close.

Dakota sat in his recliner watching the news. Sitting up, he ran his hand down his face. Christ! What a predicament to be in—the more he was around Megan the more he wanted her. Hell, you’ll never stop wanting her.

He felt like an ass for talking to her the way he had earlier, telling her to forget it as if he had. What a crock. He’d never forget anything about her. The way she clenched around his dick when she came or screamed out his name while her nails dug into his back. Shit!

Jumping up from the chair, he stalked to the fireplace, tossed a couple of logs on, and grabbed the poker. He watched the orange and blue flames snap around the logs then squatted down to stare into them. If only he could toss his memories in there and have them go up in flames. How could he do that when she was going to be down the hall from him every night? He wanted her so bad that he ached. Dear God, he hoped they found Aiden soon—either the FBI or Caporale.

Dakota shook his head. No. He couldn’t wish for Caporale to find him because if something happened to Aiden, it would kill Megan. Dakota would do anything to protect her. He loved her and he always would. Placing the poker back in the stand, he stood then turned to head to the bedroom for some much-needed sleep only to find Megan standing at the bottom of the stairs looking at him.

“What are you doing up?” he asked.

“I couldn’t sleep,” she said as she walked toward him. “Why are you still up?”

  Dakota shrugged. “Couldn’t sleep.”

He moved the fireplace screen in front of the hearth and turned to see her walking to the sofa where she sat down and curled her legs under her. Those long, glorious legs. Swallowing hard, he tore his eyes from them.

“I’m so afraid. If Caporale can’t find Aiden, he’ll come after me. He said he would.”

Dakota walked to the sofa, knelt down in front of it, and took her hand in his. “I won’t let him get to you. I promise.”

“What makes you think you can stop him? He looked to me like someone who doesn’t let anything stand in his way.”

“He’s never had to deal with me. I promise you, I will do everything in my power to protect you.”

Leaning forward, she put her hand on his cheek. “I don’t want anything to happen to you because of me. I couldn’t bear it.”

Dakota took her hand in his and kissed the palm. “Don’t worry about me...”

Their eyes met and he wanted desperately to lean in and kiss her.

“Dakota,” she whispered his name like a caress and he was lost.

Groaning, he leaned forward. When his lips touched hers, she sighed. He forced her mouth open wider and moved his tongue into her mouth. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she moved her tongue against his making him growl low in his throat.

“I want you, Megan. I want you so much,” he whispered against her lips.

“I want you too. Take me upstairs.”

Pulling back, he looked into her eyes. “Are you sure?”

“I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life. Please.”

Dakota stood, scooped her up into his arms, and carried her up the stairs. He knew this was a really bad idea but if he didn’t have her soon, he was going to go crazy. He could smell the scent of her skin from her bath. God, he wanted to bury his face in her neck and kiss his way down her body to between her thighs. He loved the taste of her and he’d never forgotten it.

Once in his bedroom, he moved to the bed, laid her down on it, pulled his T-shirt off over his head, and stared down at her. Her eyes met his just before she lifted her shirt off over her head. He drew in a breath when he saw her breasts—it had been too long.

Closing his eyes for a few seconds, he tried to calm himself when all he wanted to do was take her hard and fast. His eyes snapped open when he felt her unhooking his belt, unsnapping his jeans, and lowering the zipper. His cock was so hard he thought he’d explode if she touched him. He placed his hands over hers. She looked up at him with a questioning expression.

“I won’t make it if you touch me,” he said in a low hoarse voice.

“I have to touch you, Kota. It’s been way too long. Please.”

She pulled her hands from under his but he didn’t stop her this time. With her eyes on his, she lowered the zipper and shoved his jeans down his legs. His hard cock strained against his boxer briefs. She wrapped her hand around it through the cloth. Dakota groaned. He pulled away from her, sat on the edge of the bed, and pulled his boots off.

Megan pushed him onto his back and straddled him. She rubbed against him. He clenched his jaw in attempt to restrain his need for her. It had been far too long and she was going to kill him slowly. When he made love to her the first time, he’d been shocked to find out she was a virgin but he’d also been thrilled. She was his and always would be. He’d taken her virginity and she belonged to him. It didn’t matter if anyone came after him. She’d given him a precious gift. He taught he
r everything she now knew about how to please a man.

The sudden thought popped into his head that it would kill him to find out she’d been with other men during the past two years they’d been apart. He’d been no saint, but the thought of another man touching her made him see red.

Propping himself up on his elbows, he stared at her. She stopped moving against him and gazed into his eyes then cocked her head. “What?”

“Have you been with other men?”

“Have you been with other women?” she countered.

Dakota fell back against the bed. “I’m sorry. I had no right to ask that.”

“You’re the only man I’ve ever been with, Dakota.”

  “I am?”

“Yes. Now, can we please continue here?”

He grinned up at her. “You go right ahead, darlin’.”

Her laugh should have warned him. She moved off him and stood by the bed. As she looked at him, she removed her lounge pants and panties then stood naked in front of him.

  “How’s it possible?” he asked.

  “What?”

“That you’re more beautiful than I remember?”

Smiling at him, she pulled his jeans off the length of his legs then reached for his boxer briefs and pulled them down, and off him.

“I’m not the only one,” she said as she ran her tongue up his leg to his thigh and then along his hard cock that was standing at attention. Her hand wrapped around it and stroked as she ran her tongue along the head and the rim. Dakota grabbed fistfuls of her hair and groaned.

“No,” he said, grabbing her upper arms, pulling her up over him, and tossing her to the bed.

“I see you still haven’t learned patience,” she said laughing as he pinned her down.

“Fuck patience. I need to be inside you before I explode.” He reached into the bedside table to get a condom. Megan took it from him, ripped it open, and rolled it down over him. He pressed his lips to hers and kissed her as he moved his hand down between her legs. “You’re so wet.”

  “Only for you,” she groaned.
